A call has gone to the newly enrolled members of the Mothers' Union, Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, to uphold the sanctity of marriage, and ensure a stable family with a view to build a virile nation.
The Diocesan, Rt. Revd. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji made this call at the 22nd edition of the Mothers Union's Enrollment Service held at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church, Cathedral, Ikeja Lagos on Sunday 20th March, 2022.
While emphasising on the aims and objectives of the Union and the expectations from the new members, the Diocesan reminded them that they are ambassadors of Christ in their respective homes, offices and the society. He encouraged them to be shinning examples, and good role models.
Quoting from Romans Chapter 12 Vs 1 & 2, Bishop Odedeji admonished the newly enrolled mothers to present their bodies as a living sacrifice acceptable unto God and shun every appearance of evil. He stated further that through their activities and relationships, they can win unbelievers to God.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the oath taking by the newly enrolled members of the Mothers Union to be ambassadors in their different homes, work place, community, the church of God, as well as to champion the second coming of Christ.
The programme had in attendance over 700 newly enrolled mothers, as well as the Bishop of the Diocese of Offa, Kwara State, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Solomon Olusola Akanbi, President of the Diocesan Women's Organization, Dr. Mrs. Lydia Olukemi Odedeji, the Dean of the Cathedral and his wife, the Ven. and Mrs. Ebenezer Adewole, Archdeacon's Wives, Clergy Wives, Cathedral Priests as well as the families of the enrolled candidates.
