The Diocese of Lagos West (Anglican Communion) in continuation of her Christian Social Responsibility programme for pandemic COVID-19 lockdown extended donation of food items to people in Oworosoki, Ogudu, Ojota and Bako areas today Tuesday 21 April 2020.
The palliative programme led by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Revd James Olusola Odedeji, was taken round different parts of the state to support the effect of the lockdown policy of Government on the populace.
It will be recalled that the Diocese donated materials and money to help fight Corona virus in Lagos State.
The materials were in additional to a princely sum of money donated to the Lagos state government.
The diocesan had earlier directed all churches and Archdeaconries to mobilize their members and resources to take care of needy members and the public in their neighbourhood.
Asked why the diocese does not publicise all its philanthropic acts, Bishop Odedeji said Charity is the foundation of the early church.
He explained further that whatever we do for the needy is done for God and not for publicity. “Everything is done for God according to Colosins.3.Vs 17, 23, 24”
