After one and half years of no Dean in the Cathedral of Lagos West Diocese, Venerable Olusola James Odedeji became the 3rd Dean of the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral Church, Ikeja. The nomination and election was done on the Wednesday, June 30th, June at the Standing Committee of the Cathedral. Ven J.O. Odedeji is to resume as Dean immediately on Thursday, July 1st, 2010.
The Venerable James Olusola Odedeji, born 41 years ago hails from Eko-Ajala Village, Ikirun, Irepodun LGA in Osun State, a Western part of Nigeria into a clergy family of Late Pa Venerable Odedeji. After his secondary education in Origbo High School, Ile-Ife, he went to School of Art and Science for his Advance Level. He was then admitted into Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan in 1990 for his Theological Education. He was made a Deacon in 1993 and then ordained a Priest in 1993. He had his Bachelor of Art (BA) and Master of Art (MA) in Christian Religious Study from University of Ibadan, Ibadan and Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos respectively. He is presently undergoing his PHD programme from LASU.
He is a very spiritual Clergy with a powerful preaching ministry. He believes so much in living a righteuos life as Christian. He had worked in various Churches in the Dioceses. He worked as Cathedral Priest and first Bishop Chaplain of the Lagos West between 1997 and 2003. He is presently the Vicar of All Saints Anglican Church, Oshodi and the first Archdeacon of Oshodi Archdeacon grew tremendously under his leadership.
He is married to Mrs Oladosu Odedeji, a Senior Nursing Sister in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. The marriage is blessed with four children.
We wish him a successful ministry in AVMCC, Ikeja.
