LAGOS WEST DIOCESE CELEBRATES EASTER IN GRAND STYLE

The atmosphere and the colour of the 2016 Jesus Festival was very magnetic and magnificent. The attendance was more than the formal editions. The parade of the Anglican Communion Brigades in their ranks was superb. Agege Archdeaconry demonstrated the 2016 Diocesan theme – THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD (Psalm 23:1) in her outing and she emerged the winner of the parade. I like the red colour of Festac Archdeaconry in their large number as they added beauty to the Diocesan open field beside the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Ikeja.

There was prophetic manifestation of the power of God through the Rt Revd. Praise Omole-Ekun, the Dean of St Francis Theological College, Wusasa. One could really see that people are thirsty for God and need breakthrough. Many were baptised in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongue. Great!!! We really need such manifestation in Anglican Communion at a time like this when our members are practising adultery of religion. One could not really blame them because everyone needs breakthrough. The most interesting part of those manifestations to me is to see men and women weeping for their sins when altar call was made. I believe heaven will smile on our Diocesan Bishop, the Rt Revd Dr James Olusola Odedeji for conceiving the vision and pursuing its realisation.

While the Diocesan Bishop was giving his opening remark, he exclaimed that we gathered on the field to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in order to pray for the Nigeria and Lagos. Nigeria needs the prayers of Christians at this time when there are long queue at the filling stations, the pipelines are been vandalized and the sabotaging of the electricity generation and distribution in the country. He then encouraged that it would be then change promised by the ruling party would actually come to realisation.

Bishop Odedeji and his wife, Mrs Lydia Olukemi Odedeji were accompanied by the Dean of the Cathedral, the Venerable Olu Abel Ajibodu and the Diocesan Father of the Diocese, Chief Oluseye Osunkeye on the podium to acknowledge the parade of the Archdeaconries.
