 BISHOP ODEDEJI CLOSES SYNOD 2014 WITH PREFERMENT

The 3rd Session of the 5th Synod, which is the maiden full synod of the Rt Revd Olusola James Odedeji, closes in a glamorous way because the Bishop puts smiles on the faces of some priests. The matins service was fully attended by the legal luminaries led by the Hon Justice Ogunade and other eminent personalities across the Diocese. It was indeed a joyous occasion for the Bishop and the entire Diocese.

The Rt Revd Prof Dapo Asaju in his sermon acknowledged the wisdom depicted by the Bishop of Lagos West in bringing to the Synod all the Episcopal products of the Diocese of Lagos West to handle one programme or the other. The Episcopal products are
1. Bishop Segun Adeyemi of Kwara Diocese led the Bible Study and preached the opening service
2. Bishop B. J. Adeyemi of Badagry Diocese started the opening service .
3. Bishop E. B. Dahunsi of Idoani Diocese led the intercession of the opening service.
4. Bishop Odubogun of Ife Diocese, led prayer during the thanksgiving of the closing service.
5. Bishop Fagbamiye of Trinity Diocese in USA also led thanksgiving prayers.
6. Bishop Dapo Asaju, the Bishop Theologian and Rector of Crowther School of Postgraduate. He preached the closing service.

Bishop Asaju encouraged the clergy to obey their Bishop and that they should always remember that they are caring for spirit, soul and body of man which is contrary to the duties of the secular professionals.

During the notices session of the service, Bishop Odedeji preferred some clergy who had spent above 15years in the ministry. He said he wanted to encourage them for their works so far in the Diocese. The list is as follows:

The whole auditorium became rowdy as the names were being announced. The Bishop then congratulated the families of the newly promoted priest.
